Description
Our woolly weave texture kits are full to the brim of yummy yarn & can be tailored to your colour needs. Designed to accompany our Free Woolly Weave Wall Hanging Video Tutorial on our Youtube Channel! Or indeed any other textile project where you need a grab bag of different yarn textures. If what you have at home is not inspiring you then click through and get your bag of fluffy goodness straight to your door. This is a fantastic project for tweens & teens too! If you have younger kids make them a bookmark sized loom and they can join in with you.
What’s in the kit?
We include super chunky yarn, worsted weight, double knitting, fashion texture yarn, mohair all offering different textures for you to mix up & combine to stunning effect in a chunky wall hanging. Our generous bags will ensure you can achieve more than one wall hanging. It is a very intuitive selection process where we use our love of texture & colour to curate a mix of tonal shades and textures including 2 * 1 metre lengths of giant wool roving in cream and one of our other stunning colours (grey, pale pink, bright barbie pink, bright red, unicorn (which is a gorgeous mix of many pastel shades (blue, yellow, pink, lilac). Check out the pictures. We also give you a safe, plastic darning needle to help you weave.
Can it be Tailored?
YES. We have put together 5 inspirational colourways for you to choose from however you can leave us a note to request more specific choices eg. more of this……, less of that……. etc.
Could I do the Wall Hanging?
ABSOLUTELY. No prior weaving skills are required. It is a really simple process and the accompanying free video is nearly an hour long and walks you step by step through the pictured wall hanging however you can obviously do your own thing!!!
The grab bag only contains the weaving yarns.
You need to collect a piece of driftwood or woodland stick to hang your wall hanging from.
You also need to provide some cardboard to make your loom and we recommend the below video for this. Don’t use boring old string though for threading up your loom, wait until the grab bag arrives and use something more interesting as the loops at the top will be on display around your drift wood. I like to use a chunky or super chunky yarn for this.
